This is a digital archive and storytelling project by Black Girl Narrative.
It documents the stories of Black women who remained present—online—despite the harm, erasure, and exhaustion that digital spaces often bring. We asked one question: Why did you stay online?
Some were quiet. Some were sharp. All were necessary. This project exists because too often, our presence is expected but not protected. These stories aren’t about resilience. They’re about truth.
They’re about naming what it costs to be visible, and how—even then—we found ways to build community, care, and connection.
This archive is part visual poem, part testimony, and fully ours.
Click through, listen in, and witness. We’re not just telling stories—we’re building memory.
